Our departments make up the engine of Second Street Baptist Church.  They provide the services to maintain the church and engage the community.  If you want to be part of a growing and glowing ministry, please consider joining a department and working for the Lord!

Deaconboard

Chairman:  Deacon Dimetric Houston

The Deaconboard is designed to assist the Pastor and serve the church.

Deaconess

President:  Sis. Jean Harp

The Deaconess exist as an addition to the Deaconboard, with an emphasis on assisting in service to the church body.

Mission

President:  Sis. Jean Harp

The Mission department sees to the needs of those who are in dire straits and help provide essentials such as food, clothing, etc.

Sunday School

Superintendent:  Deacon Dimetric Houston

The Sunday School provides a learning environment to enrich the Bible knowledge of students.

Choir

President:  Sis Sonja Collins-Thomas

Youth Musician:  Sis. Lydia Black

The choir provides the music to bring in the Spirit and get the congregation into the worship experience

Youth

President:  Sis. Valerie Anderson

The Youth department provides a place for young people to come, learn, grow, and participate together in becoming better Christians from a young age.  Activities, fun, and idea exchange are all a part of the Youth department

Pastor's Aid

President: 

The Pastor's Aid exists to provide explicit assistance to the Pastor.  This department sees to Pastor's needs in the areas of finance and material condiments.
